Good morning and welcome to our Family Service. Alan Birchall, one of our Church Elders is our speaker for this morning and he will be talking to us about "Why were we made in the image of God?" Alan will explore God's intention for mankind in being image bearers of Himself and how through the new life in Christ, of the redeemed Christian, God's purpose in creation is restored ie. The life of God Himself in the soul of Mankind revealing His Glory. If you would like to read through the key verses to be used in the service today please turn to; Genesis 1:24-31 (p.4) Romans 8:29 (p.1135) and John 20:21 (p.1089).
God saw that his work was good. People sometimes feel guilty for having a good time or for feeling good about an accomplishment. This need not be so. Just as God felt good about his work, we can be pleased with ours. However, we should not feel good about our work if God would not be pleased with it. What are you doing that pleases both you and God?
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
Genesis 1:24-31, Romans 8:29, John 20:21 (NIV)
