Good morning and a warm welcome to you, especially if this is your first time at Bethel Church. We hope you will stay for a cuppa following the service. Indeed, we welcome everyone to our Family Service and thank God for the family of God and the opportunity of showing our love for Jesus Christ by our worship of Him.
As our new pastor, Jonathan Gough, completes his first week with us, we look forward to hearing the message he will bring this morning, entitled ‘Mayhem and Precision’. We will be looking at the book of Job part 1 and learning about the startling chaos and tragedy which slammed into Job's life. Although there was something unusual about it, Job endured everything and remained steadfast in his faith and worship.
It is easy to think that we have all the answers. In reality, only God knows exactly why things happen as they do, and we must submit to him as our Sovereign. As you read this book, emulate Job and decide to trust God no matter what happens.
'Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I shall depart.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.'
